This is the first baitcast that I have used and I love it! The casting is great, the feel is incredible, fits perfect in my hand and looks nice too. I have used the STX for 4 months without a problem. Lots of reeling power
I would recommend this to a friend!

You would think this slogan/song was written for Abu Garcia products, and specifically, for the Revo STX.
This product is one of the smoothest casting reels I have ever had the pleasure to use---and I've used quite a few of them. My favorite thing about the reel is that like I said above, it is virtually indestructible. To be honest, I put my stuff through extreme harshness because I'm a bank fisherman. I'm not a fancy fisherman with a rod locker in the front of his $60,000 dollar boat. Not that there is anything wrong with that of course, I think we all aspire to be that person. As much mud, rocks and water that have been banged against this reel, it is a miracle it is still working like the first day I took it out of the box.
This reel is the real deal. It is smooth, has three different kinds of breaks, the drag is continuous and smooth, it can cast a mile and best of all, it is "set and forget". What I mean by this is that if you set the brakes at a generally acceptable level, you can switch lures back and forth and you will never backlash. My friend, who had never used a baitcaster picked this thing up and started firing off casts left and right.
If you are in the price range for an amazing, quality reel, do yourself a favor and buy an STX, Premier or MGX.
Abu Garcia is the best reel for the money.

This is my first baitcasting reel. Having never used a baitcaster, when I purchased the STX, I have found it extremely easy to use. Surprisingly, after about 15 minutes of practice, I was out of the learning phase, and directly into technique. This reel is simple to use, smooth to cast, and keeps fishing fun.
I would recommend this to a friend!
