i love all abu garcia products. the revo stx is the best reel i have ever used.it casts further than anything out there.

This reel is really something. I bought one just before i went to the US, and of course bassfishing was on my mind. I´ve gotta say, the quality feel that you get with this reel is incredible for this (and higher) price ranges, and it´s performance is incredible. So far the biggest bass i caught with it was a 6 pounder, and it held up astonishing. I had the brakes on hard, because i had to force the fish out of a weed bed, and the STX didn´t miss a beat (and it still hasn´t). Definitely reccomend it to anyone who wants a quality reel for bass-fishing.
Purchased a new stx this spring and couldn't be happier. Paired with a MH Vendetta rod, the bass swim home with a sore mouth. Used it for jig and plastic fishing all year. I bought an antibacklash years ago and was very displeased. I had purchased it to make the transition to baitcasting. Put it aside and went back to spinning reels. Eventually picked up a model or two from the competitors and learned the ropes. I have made the jump in quality products year after year, as I am VERY hard on equipment. Took the best step yet in the purchase of the stx. Extremely satisfied is an understatement. Very confident throwing my jigs and plastics. Would highly recommend this reel; however, the smallies from the local haunts may differ in opinion.
The STX is versatile, comfortable and setup up extremely well for all applications of bass fishing. I crank, worm, and flip with my STX's with flawless ability. I have gotten rid of all of my Shimano Curado's and replaced them with Revo's because of their reliability and durability. I am anxious to get my hands on the new MGX's, but my STX's are awesome! I live in Indiana and am a huge Bass fisherman....I had the opportunity to go Salmon fishing in Washington state to the Puyallup River...took my STX...worked flawlessly.. Versatile is an understatement.
