the Revo STX is the smoothest, reel i have ever used. It casts further than any other real i have ever used. i have it paired with a 6'6 medium rod, and i coudn't ask for anything better. The 7:1 retrieve is ideal. i use this real for flipping and pitching, and the ability to reel up line quickly is crucial, and the STX gets it done everytime.
I would recommend this to a friend!

this reel is loaded with great features like 10 bearings and dual brake controls to help you avoid backlashes and control your cast. super smooth retrieve and awesome drag power.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Revo stx is just a smooth, finely crafted piece of fishing machinery. Cast's like a dream, great drag, and easy to palm. I've owned, and fished with many of the higher end reels out there, and the Revo's are right at the top!
I would recommend this to a friend!

"I have the Revo STX, right hand, 6.4:1 gear ratio reel. The frame and both side plates are an Aluminum alloy. I like this better than the graphite components on other reels. From memory, most reels of this size and type have a drag force limit of 8 lb. to 12 lb. This reel has a drag limit of 24 lb. I have not tried the drag at the higher settings, however at lower settings, I found the drag to be very smooth. The reel has 11 Stainless Steel ball bearings. I think that this is why I found the reel to operate very smoothly. The level wind worm is gold in color. I am pretty sure that the gold color is a Titanium nitride coating making the surface very hard and durable. I found the magnetic brake to operate much like the magnetic brakes on some of my other baitcasting reels: no better, no worse. I would like the reel better if it had a larger line capacity. The capacity is 140 yds. of 12 lb. line. I like to use higher test lines sometimes. Anyway, I think that this reel with these high end features, quality craftsmanship and smooth, reliable operation is a very good buy at this price hear is a pic of the first fish i caught with the revo stx

Try backing with braid. Have a STX HS with about 200 meters loaded. 100m 15lb Aji King braid and 100m 12lb Nitlon Flourocarbon. Works a treat.
