I have several Revo STX reels and have been using them for everything from tossing buzzbaits to flipping heavy jigs in heavy cover. They have all performed very well for me. These reels give all the other reels at the $200 price point a run for the money. They feel great and perform great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought my revo stx less than a year ago; used it a couple of times saltwater fishing, had it professionally cleaned; used it a couple more times and overall performance was poor. Was going to take the reel back in for complete service / cleaning and noticed thumb release was broken. This one goes in the trash. I'm back with Shimano.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Caught using the Revo STX and a heavy football jig on 20lb fluorocarbon.
I purchased the Revo STX this past spring. I have used this reel all over Oklahoma and Texas - including Fork and Falcon. The reel has handled perfectly in every situation. I've used this to throw square bills to shakey heads to heavy football jigs. It adjusts beautifully to any lure weight or wind condition with the easy to adjust braking system. The drag has helped me pull fish up to 9lbs out of heavy timber and deep water. I like the 7.1:1 ratio to help catch up with a fish when it runs right at the boat. This is my second Revo, and it won't be my last!

I have had this reel for about a year and have thrown mostly heavy baits on it. I know that it will throw light baits well too though. It is a tank with 24 pounds of drag at max and with braid and a super heavy flippin stick is the only time I ever max it out. Gets them out of anything. Also, with my flipping stick being 8' I can pitch probably 20-30 yards (60-90 feet). I can pitch a mile and the retrieve is smooth, as is the drag. there is a little cap under levelwind which accounts for the 4 in ergonomics. not really a big dean but a bit uncomfortable when what you do mostly is flippin and pitchin.
