The stx is my first baitcaster, I paired it with the 7' Veritas. I had a few birdnests at first but after I correctly set the breaking system I was launching a 1/4 oz. It's so smooth and quiet! The only problem I have with the two prouducts is I didn't get a rebate for the hoodie with either the rod or reel! I feel cheated..
I would recommend this to a friend!

I started a light weight fishing tecn. that uses finesse fishing in a bold may....With a bait caster 12lb line 1/4 oz lures on a 7'6" cranking rod. My Abu allows me to cast a long way and I never worry about backlash. The fight is always fun because I don't worry about my drag. My reels from Abu never let me down. I know I will have one in my hand for year to come. Thank You Abu Garcia for making fishing better for generations.

STX casting issues

Maybe I have a reject? but don't ever try casting anything lighter then 1/2 oz on your revo stx and expect consistency....no chance of handling a 1/4 oz bait....I own 6 quantum tour editions and they cast almost twice as far with no effort and rare backlashes...thought i'd try a revo stx do to increased power and regretting every penny spent....reel is built well but just not close in technology to the higher end quantums. Sorry.

Spend more if you want But you won't get better!! Been using The Revo STX for 4 years now and its the best reel I've used ever. Holds up to even the thickest slop with the big boys on a frog and pitching a 1/4oz jig in the brush no problems.

I really wanted to try a Revo reel when they first were introduced. I finally broke down and bought a Revo STX-L-HS. From the first day, I have been in love with the smooth consistent performance. The reel has a velvet transition from casting to reeling without a clunky feel in the spool engagement. The casting controls are easy to use and make the reel very backlash resistant. The light weight and balance of the reel help to make a great combo with the Denali Jadewood worm and jig rod I paired with it. Overall, my Revo has become one of the first combos I pull from the rod locker to start my day on the water. It is my favorite!
