I have been using this reel for three seasons now. I have nothing but high praise for the Revo reels. I find I can throw even the lightest of worms and lures on a medium action rod with no concern for backlash. Pitching 1/8 oz jigs to throwing 3/4 oz hard baits, it does it all. I am now in the process of changing out my remaining baitcasters to the Revo line. I just ordered to new Revo SX reels.

i was fortunate enough to pick up one of these on sale for $70 off, was planning on buying another SX, but took the opportunity to level up. This reel is fantastic, light enough to cast all day without wearing yourself out, but plenty enough drag power to horse out fish from the heavy stuff. This is the smoothest reel i have ever fished while still feeling rock solid, no slip, no slop, well balanced. The SX is a great reel also, and for the money, might be the better buy, but you wont regret the purchase if you splurge for the STX.

I bought this casting reel as it was highly reccomended by numerous anglers I know. I could not be happier with this product! It exceeds the quality of my numerous shimano reels. I know this reel will last a long time. This reel is flawless and very versatile! Casts like a dream! Braking system is unreal and I have finally found my favorite baitcaster! I have only had to clean this reel to keep it performing like the first time I bought it! I recently purchased an additional reel and have no plans to switch to another type ever! Works well paired with my ABU GARCIA rod! I have no complaints with this product! If you are concerned about the higher price tag..... Get it! its so worth the money! Performs better than more expensive reels I have purchased!

First things first, this reel is smoooooth. When i started getting serious about fishing, i knew i needed a reel that could provide me with superior performance for a reasonable price (if that doesnt sound like plug...) But its true, after reading countless reviews and talking to local professionals, they were synonymous in saying that the STX was the way to go. After 2 years of use, i couldn't be happier with my decision. I've tested this reel in every situation and it still works like a charm. The upkeep on the STX is simple, making it easy to maintain throughout the seasons. 24lbs of drag...enough said. The STX is very light, go ahead and put this thing on a veritas like i did and find out what casting with a feather feels like. I was worried at first, usually you have to sacrifice weight for strength but this thing has it all. I've had mine submerged in water, covered in snow, dropped on rocks, kicked, and stepped on and it still works like new. The hybrid magnetic/centrifugal brake system is amazing. You can cast, flip, and pitch any line you want, problem free. I cant remember the last time i backlashed. Oh, did i mention how gorgeous it looks? If you're in the market for a new reel, this is the one.
