I needed a left handed baitcaster in a pinch, and the local store was out of my typical Curados. I bought the STX, and now three months later, I have donated all my Curados to a local school club and bought 6 STXs. The reel feels rock solid, casts effortlessly, and you can get great distance without turning all the brakes down so low that a backlash is just a breath away. They feel and perform like brand new even after a whole season of heavy use. Outstanding!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Strong as an ox. Easily one of the best reels for the money.

Great reel. casts wonderfully, smooth, and very durable. no complaints what so ever. i have been waiting a while to find a reel as good as this one. i have always been an abu fan, but i always bought round reels and this was my first low profile reel. it fits in my hand perfect and has more torque and a better drag than any reel i have used.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice one at Smith Mt. Lake VA. Caught on Revo STX LH, Yamamoto Senko on Gamakatsu EWG 5/0, with 8lb Silver Thread line.
I do still use a Morrum at times but the fluidness of this reel is excellent. Smooth, precise, and comfortable make for an extended day out on the water without fatigue. Casting with ease is made possible with the centrifugal brake and fine adjustment for each individual lure weight. Cleaning and maintenance are carefree and easy to to do due to the rounded edges (no dirt to catch in intersecting or ridge lines) and if need the sideplate comes off with ease.
