I own three REVO reels which I use for freshwater fishing only. The reels are three years old. Of all the reels that I own (Quantum (5), Pflueger (2)), the REVO STX performs better. Specifically, with the 11 ball bearings, the retrieve is very smooth and the ergonomic design of the reel fits comfortably in the palm of my hand. I can fully attest to this because I have carpal tunnel on my left hand. The casting peformance of this reel allows me to cast lures whether 1/4 or 3/4 ounce tremendous distances. I perform my own maintenance on the reels since they are easy to take apart. The finish on the reels is very durable unlike the Quantum baitcast reels that I had bought prior to my REVO purchases. I highly recommend based on my personal experience with this reel and other reels using the above criteria. My future purchases will be REVOs to replace my other older reels.

This reel was a little stiff to begin with but broke in well. Most reels feel great at first but with a little use get sloppy. Not this reel. I love this reel even after two years of use. The quality of this reel is first rate. The price a little stiff, but quality has its price. Way to go Abu!

I currently have 2 of these reels and would highly recommend it to serious anglers. Holds up to the toughest challenges from largemouth bass at Lake Amistad to Red Fish down on the coast. This reel can handle it all. Smooth casting and great durability.

What an awesone fishing machine. The STX is the smoothest reel that I have ever owned. The casting distance is great and the retrieve is tops. I have 3 Revo STX, 2 Revo SX and 1 Revo winch. There will be more added, top of the line.
