This past fishing season I purchased 2 new Revo SX's and could not have been happier. I fish primarily bass and these were the most expensive reels I have ever purchased. I was blown away by the ease of use, distance I was able to cast, smooth effortless retrieves and ability to get solid hook sets. They were easy to maintain and set the dual breaking system which eliminated most of my backlashes, unless I caught an overhanging tree at release which was my fault. Plan to buy another SX before the end of the year.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've fished 2 other major brands primarily for the past 10 years. I bought an SX on a recommendation last year and have purchased 2 more since. Absolutely outstanding. The smoothness is second to none and the casting distance is just amazing (25% more than my previous reels). At this price point, you can't beat this reel. Outstanding quality.
My only complaint is that the paint has started to chip/wear off after only a year of moderate/heavy use.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Caught this hawg on a "orange" rod (sorry veritas hasn't arrived yet) and the new model Revo SX-HS spooled with 10 lb. fluorocarbon and a jerkbait on 10-22-2011.

I have small hands and long fingers so finding a real that I could palm and not get hand cramps was important.
I found it. I have an older model and current model Revo SX-HS's and love them. I can palm them all day and not get tired. Whether I am throwing jerkbaits (10 lb. fluorocarbon) or ripping 1oz. lipless crankbaits...my hands are never an issue anymore. The pics were from my jerkbait setup...and is the biggest bass I have ever caught. The reel handled that hawg with ease.
I used to use a competitors top of the line reals but found that by the end of the day/tournament my hands hurt...not anymore.
The adjustments on the Revo SX are easy to use and once you dial them in you can forget about them.
The drag is more than enough even on the high speed models (which I prefer).
Casting distance is unreal. My first Revo I developed a reputation for being able to catch trees on the shore from the middle of the lake...I can still do that on the new model as well...
The weight of the real if very nice. Even at 8.9 oz. I hardly feel it. Casting all day no longer wears me out. And I fish several times a week all year long and numerous tournaments annually. Even bigger people I take out and let them use my rods and reels fall in love with them. Amazing I ever get them to let me have them back.
So, if you are looking for a top notch product from a top notch company...get a Revo SX from Abu Garcia. You won't regret it.
This is a great reel. I just purchased the left handed high speed model from my flipping and pitching rod for easy access to the handle. It is a very smooth and a great casting reel. You can't even feel it when reeling in. Very happy with my purchase!!
