I have this reel mounted on a Vendetta rod. THIS IS AN AMAZING SETUP!!!!I I totally recomend this product 100%.... however if your fishing salt/brakish water, you need to clean this reel extremely good with water... usually i just hose my reels down lightly and im done. But this reel i really have to spray down good...... maybe im the only one but i find that this reel corrodes very easily! other wise this reel has great cast abillity. and paird with a 6,6 med vendetta its basicly bulletproof!!!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

The reel is designed to be extremely corrosion resistant but for freshwater Abu does make i real designed for salt water but this is primarily for freshwater. If you are usually fishing salt-brackish water try the Revo inshore a friend of mine has one and he still brags about it whenever we go to the Gulf of Mexico.

I had 2 of the gen2 revo's and was not happy at all. Sold them and stuck with my curado's and chronarch. When I seen the new gen 3 revo's i decided to give them one more go. I have only had it for a month. But have given it a bit of a work out on some Aussie bass in fresh water. And trevally in saltwater. So far I could not be happier. It is very soft and smooth on retrieve. And has a good drag. It is a great little reel all round. I found it to be as nice to use as my much more expensive shimano core 100mg. The only thing I would look at changing if I where abu. Is replacing some of the plastic in the casting mech back to some stainless even if it adds a couple of grams in weight. But in saying that I have had no probs as yet. Will just have to see if they stand the test of time like there shimano counterparts. I have now just ordered the stx. So I hope I am as happy with that as I am the sx. Well done abu a big step up from the previous model in my opinion.

This reel is the first reel I have ever used that made me smile. I was so impressed with the quality that I felt in my hand. Casting was a absolute pleasure. It was so quiet. Casting and retrieving made me feel in control of any weight of lure I decided to use. No slack in the handle, it is solid as a rock. It doesn't have the extra magnets for the end of the cast that has been brought out in the past few years. But, it is almost beyond words just how nice it is. Be conscious of setting your reel to the weight of the lure and backlashes are seldom if any at all. So all I can say is, buy the best reel on the market under $50 and get this beauty.

just bought this real and went to try it. At the beginning was everything excelent but after 1 hour had a problem just like "Roger" has. After I cast, i have to round handle knob 2-3 times to make thumb bar up.
The rest about this reel is excellent!!
