idk wuz up with all the hype shimano curado and chronarch reels. i fell into all the hype and alot of fish missing. the revo s belong to a friend of mine. we went fishing at the last minute and i left my shimanos at home. he let use his revo s that day and i fell in love. very smooth and very quick. reel in some nice size fish. from that day i knew i was abu garcia guy. and some shimanos for sell. give this reel a try. this little reel is a monster with 24lbs of drag. i use in saltwater and freshwater. 130 bucks you cant go wrong

Having owned Abu Garcia reels since I was give a Red one, when was 14 or 15 (1960's) I said I'd never pay a $100 for a reel. I now own 2 Revo S's & am about to purchase a 3rd. I do have a Shimano Curado also but the feel of the Revo is just so much better to me. Love em. Cast great, light, smooth & a strong drag. I'll eventually replace the Shimano & my 5500's with Revo's, unless AG comes out with something better in the same price range or less. I don't see how though.

I found this reel on sale at my local tackle shop so I picked one up. After stripping down all of the factory grease/oil and re-lubing with Quantum Hot Sauce (like I do all of my reels), this reel feels like it should have cost twice as much! I also own an Orra SX, 2 Revo SX's and an STX, so I was not hesitant to buy this at all. I know it would give me great performance and be trusted to take on the heavy use during tournaments. The reel casts great and will throw unweighted soft plastics, such as stick worms, with ease! The feel is great, however, I do wish that it had a swept handle like the SX and STX. Other than that, this reel is perfect and was worth every penny I spent on it.

First time ever using a bait cast reel, love it! I used the rebate offer and put 15lb spider wire (sleath) on and wow. First cast I made was smooth. I did get one of my cast's caught on a tree branch and thought I lost my new lure, but no, the strength of my new 6'6" Veritas and my new spider wire, ripped that lure out with no problem. I'm sold and can't wait to use again.
