You know the old saying, "They don't build em' like they used to?" Well, these guys do! This reel has been the best casting and most durable round reel I've ever owned. I fish 2 or 3 times a week and love this thing. If you don't have a Record in your fishing arsenal, you're missing out on some killer fish! Retrieval is totally smooth and the gears are absolutely tough as nails. Yes, they do build em like they used to!
this is one of my all time favorite reels. I own several of them and use them from freshwater to salt from catfish to stripers. they have a supper smooth drag and cast great. I would say that everyone should give them a try.

I bought a Garcia Record Number 6 reel in 2007. I use it strictly for Musky casting/fishing. I've caught two legal Musky with the Record reel since and am going to now use it for a backup and buy another Record Reel with the power crank/handle for my retirement gift to myself. I would not consider any other reel manufacturer. The ol' saying is: "You get what you pay for" and Abu Garcia is the way to go.
I would recommend this to a friend!

not only a beautiful reel to look at it performs as well as it looks.can not wait to get back out and use it again.action is smooth castability is fine.
