My Orra SX has been through a year of heavy use and has definitely impressed me. I'll pick up my Orra just as readily as my Revo S's, and it feels equally at home in my hand. The pitch centrifugal brake system is fantastic, as is the all metal construction. Casting performance is very comparable to that of the Revo S, and i have a hard time telling the difference between the 2 while fishing them. After much searching I'm convinced there is no better reel than the Orra SX in it's price range. I plan on picking up a high speed version for a frog rod in the near future.
This is a fantastic reel and i am very happy with my purchase, it has handled a diverse amount of lures with ease and casts like a dream. The ease of access to to internal workings of the reel is great and makes maintaining it a breeze. As much as i have used it i have loved it with the exception of one thing. Every time i have taken it out of of the handles has come loose and fallen off, while it easy to repair it is quickly becoming an annoyance. Overall it is a great reel and i look forward to using more Abu Garcia products in the future.

frustrated by breakage of Orra Sx..

I purchased an orra sx reel, used it twice and the braking system failed. I know it is not the Revo SX, but i would have expected more out of this product. I am returning it to Dick Sporting goods and getting a replacement. I own all Abu Garcia Reels, matter of a fact learned how to use a bait caster when I was 13 on a Abu Garcia Reel. I love your company but I believe some new engineering or stronger parts need to be put into this product. I fish the Fishers of Men Tournament Trail and fish the BASS Northern Opens and need dependable tackle. This Orra has disappointed me.

I love this reel. It's very smooth and lightweight, and doesnt feel unbalanced like some other reals with a similar design (Some other brands tend to feel heavy on the right side and are bulky behind the handle, due to the location of the gears). I would buy another Orra SX without question, and will do so when the need to replace an older reel presents itself.

a little over a year ago I added a RevoSX to my 4 older round AbuGarcia reels--I love it--long casts-very few back lasshes-feels perfect in my hand-have landed over 50 bass with it from Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn up to 7 pounds so far-I believe it will hold up just like the round reels-I intend to purchase another soon-I certainly recommend this reel .
