The Abu Garcia Orra SX has the easiest and smoothing casting in a reel you could ever ask for. With the Orra SX i have been able to cast worms into the wind and not backlash without gearing down the spool and brake system. The brakes system is easy to access and the brakes do not pop off and fall in the water. the spool dial has an easy access whole in the cap to lube up and keep your reel well maintained. The bearings in a Abu Garcia reel are super smooth and have shown themselves what they can do for me. crankers and spinnerbait users dont be scared away by the 6.4.1 gear ratio I can crank this reel all day and not get tired. This reel is probably going to outlast yourself, and I will be buying two more Orra SX and a Orra inshore.

I would recommend this to a friend!

Spend the extra $$ and get the Revo Inshore or STX

At first the reel would backlash all the time until I cleaned oil from the brake drum - over zealous assembly worker putting too much oil on the bearings??
I haven't fished with it much but it never felt as good as the Revo Inshore that I have. The drag on the Orra SX is not as smooth as on the Revo Inshore.

Last fishing trip I was throwing an 18g (1oz) topwater bait and after a couple of hours the reel started backlashing all the time - the brake blocks had completely worn down!! Good job I had brought my Revo Inshore as a backup - which I have had for over a year and is my main fishing reel and never had any problems with it (My Orra SX is a left-handed one for walk-the-dog type lures).

I am now saving up for a left-handed Revo Inshore....
Anybody want a cheap Orra SX?

Would not recommend the orra sx

I bought 2 orra sx hs reels and have nothing but problems with them. The first one the pin in the spool broke and my reel repair man has been waiting on parts to fix it for over a year now. The second reel hasn't been used for a couple months and the anti reverse is starting to slip. I would not recommend an orra if you want a good reel spend the money and buy a revo sx gen 3. I own all revo gen 3 and love them all they are flawless. The orra is not even in comparison to any 100$ reel you can buy I wouldn't reccomend it to anybody.

Great customer service

This is a continuation of my review in which I made mention of the fact that the brake blocks wore down very fast.
I received an email from customer support offering to replace the affected parts. As it was just the brake blocks I asked them to send the parts in the mail instead of sending the reel in for service.
The parts arrived in the mail today - kudos to Abu Garcia customer service.
