Great lightweight reel with a nice compact low profile that feels perfect. I matched my Pro Max reel on a 7'6" Vendetta Rod. I am really pleased with the combo and reel performance whether I am casting, pitching or flipping. I would highly recommend this reel!

I just got the pro max the other day, today was my first time using it. It is great, I have the silver max, black max, and the 7ft vengeance with the cardinal 354i spinning reel. I just started using Abu Garcia this year and I'm hooked. That is all I will ever buy from now on. Absolutely great rods and reels.

Absolutely love it! I purchased this reel this past week and it did not disappoint! The quick retrieve makes it near impossible to lose a fish if you get the hook set. I paired it with the vengeance rod and they complement each other very well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I do love my pro max reel but a couple of months of fishing with it the crank and spool have alot of side to side sloppy play in it and it is making a nasty grindin noise when retrieving with a big fish on right after hook set.. I need to know how to fix this problem.. i have the silver max as well and it doesnt have the slop issue but does have the grinding issue same as my pro max. please help me out. thanx.

sloppy movement

the sloppy horisontal movement of the spool is caused by incorrect cast control,wind level control, or the drag adjustment. check each one first by tightening them all very lightly.then back them all off one at a time and you will probably cure the problem. you will find they usually fail by operator error :>)done it so I know. good luck! welcome to the family "for life"
