I received my Black Max as a gift from one of my fishing pals. He gave it to me when I was having trouble with the rod and reel I had been using for years. Prier to this action, I had it set in my head that the rod and reel I was using was the best in the world and I would never change. But boy, I'm glad I did. I have been using my Black Max for almost a year now, and is has got to be the best reel I have ever owned. I am more than happy with my Black Max.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I use this reel for crappie fishing and bass fishing. It's a decent little reel, but I have had some problems with it. The line release button is not smooth, sounds like it grinds a little on the plastic (or w/e its made out of) housing. Other than that it works for what I need.
I got one for my birthday it was easy to adjust, and operate. I love it BEST REEL I've ever had.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought this reel about a year ago and it was my 2nd baitcast reel I had owned. My first was a Pfleuger Monarch ($35). It was not a good reel at all so i decided to go for a higher price range, hoping for a better quality reel. Well folks, I found it! This reel has fought well over 250 fish over the course of its life and performs the same as it did the first time I used it. I love the way the reel handles heavy bass and will cast a light lure a long way. Abu, ya'll were not kidding when you said "For Life"! The Black Max led me to buy the Pro Max and the Revo S, both great reels as well. Keep it up Abu Garcia!
