The combos setup and ready to fish!
For a while now, my two oldest grandsons (ages 9 and 7) have been wanting me to take them fishing and teach them how. Based on previous experience with Abu Garcia (and Pure Fishing) products, I use AG/Pure Fishing products almost exclusively, I bought the BMAX2-L for my oldest grandson and paired it to a 6' Berkley Cherrywood Medium Heavy rod. I also took my own BMAX (older Black Max in 6.2:1 with the flipping switch) and paired it to the exact same model rod. (I've caught A LOT of nice 3# - 5# bass with this reel!) Anyway...
In setting up these combinations for my grandsons, I also spooled them with your (Pure Fishing) 14# Berkley Trilene XL line. Last night, while my wife was in choir practice at church, I took the lefty Black Max (BMax2-L) setup out to the church pond to finish tuning it up for my oldest (9 years old) grandson. See the photos; they speak for themselves!
Just as an FYI here, I'm right handed and set up this for my left-handed grandson. This is why I will always use Abu Garcia... as your logo says "Abu Garcia... FOR LIFE!"
I bought this reel cuz of price. I now have on both my steelhead poles. A couple people said they had issues with these reels but I had a 25 lb Chinook on and it drug it right up to the bank. Been fishing steady with these reels for around a year.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had this reel for a few days, and it wouldn't cast out. This is by far the worst reel ever!!

Abu garcia are the "Only reels" I use on all my rods!! And what makes it more awesome is there competitive prices! This is a Tournament grade reel, I could only imagine how the higher end reels are!! Keep up the good work guys!!

Purchased 3 weeks ago. Superb feel and so smoothe. Have really put it thru some serious fishing and completely satisfied with it's performance.

I get a lot of overruns with this and i have 10 lb. suffix mono line. i can not seem to do anything to fix this, help please?

Purchased this combo at Walmart last June and fell in love wit great combo for the price but unfortunately it was short lived on my 2 nd outing with the combo on my first cast the rod jus splits in half at where the handle and rod meet. Was very disappointing now I can't take advantage of warranty cause I have misplaced the receipt. Didn't think I'd need to keep around considering its an Abu but no one is perfect I guess
