I bought the black max combo worked great i started catching bigger bass, better feel, light, only problem i had was rod snap several inches from the top as i brought in a 5 1/2 pound bass made me feel like it was a fragile rod only had it 3 months could not return it to store since i lost my receipt, maybe i just held the rod wrong as i pulled the bass out of th water and caused it to brake now looking into the new volatile rod.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've owned a Black Max for a couple of years and am well pleased with it. It works as good today as when I purchased it. I've been looking at the Revo STX up upgrade. If I can convince myself that I'll have as much good service as my Black Max have given me, I might ask for one next month from the fat man in the red suit.
I would recommend this to a friend!

GREAT Reel for the price!!! Had it for about a year now and no problems. Good smooth drag, casts great, and looks pretty cool. Have 14lb. mono on it for spinnerbaits and crankbaits and works perfectly.
i am 14 years old and got this for my birthday a few months ago. It felt and worked great for about a week. Then the gears started slipping. the drag wont hold up because the gears will slip. Its a piece of junk, save up and get a better reel from abu.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
