I have 4 black max reels and got my first one 6 years ago havent had a bit of trouble out of any of them I have them paired with various rods and they work for everything I fish for and with I would deffinately recommend this reel to anyone and say its the best one I've ever owned and will keep stocking up on them to keep my arsenal full and ready to fish!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got a great deal on a left hand black max reel at a small bait shop in new jersey, I paired it with a 6'6" vendetta MH rod and was at the lake 20 minutes later. This was my first ever bait casting reel, after a week I bought my second black max reel, I use 12# fluorocarbon on one for working jigs in structure, the other is 12# mono for lake flats and emerged vegetation. Smooth reel, amazing performance when I cast anything 1/4 oz and up. For the price tag this reel is second to none. Abu Garcia makes great reels, this reel is now my favorite for fresh water fishing.

Ive had this reel for about a year and i love it! Works great, never had any problems with it. Its real smooth and can handle anything you throw at it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased the Black Max combo a few days ago and I am impressed with it.I have not fished with it yet because I am on the road as a truck driver but I have practiced casting it with a 3/8 oz practice plug and it casts like a dream.This is my first Abu Garcia reel but not the last. I plan to replace all of my bass pro reels and wal mart reel with Abu Garcia products. Abu Garcia for life.
