I think this reel is worth every penny I spent. It costs a little more, but it is totally amazing. This reel makes for a very good musky and pike reel.

I have 4 of these reels would recommend to anybody. caught lots of big catfish. I have 2 6600 a 5600 and a 4600 in the c4 series of reels. I also have a lot of other abu garcia reels but the c4 are my favorite by far.

This is my favorite reel. I bought a used one from a friend several years ago and liked it so much that I purchased two more. These are my "Go To" reels for Musky and big Pike.

I own both the 4600C4 and the 6600C4. I love both of them, although I have not yet gotten to break in the 6600. My 4600 was a little tight at first but after a bunch of practice casting, it is smooth as silk. Both of them look gorgeous, cast like a dream, and are tough as nails. Definitely worth the money.

My dad bought two 6600C4 reels for our shad fishing setups. They are mounted on a 8 1/2 ft Ugly Stick Lite pole. These reels work flawlessly and are very smooth. After unexpectedly hauling in a 4 foot sturgeon while shad fishing I knew this reel was stout. Now I use it for steelhead also. The star wheel drag is easy to use and adjust with a fish on. Most people around us bounce back to where they want it but we just cast back. These reels make it easy to cast and adjust to avoid backlash. Overall I'd say the 6600c4 is a great,bordering on perfect reel. I have never touched mine and it still looks and more importantly works like new.

I bought my C4 reel about ten years age and I have never done any maintenance to it. It is still casts as smooth today as the day I bought it. I can still cast a 1/2 oz. lure about 75 feet with ease.I own all name brand of reels and by far my C4 is my number one choice every time.

Bought one of these, threw it on an ugly stik and its my go to rod and reel. I have took it to the BWCA on multiple occasions, and used it for all types of fishing, never had a problem. I would definitely recommend this as a dependable and all-around well performing reel.

this is an awesome reel i bought mine a couple years ago when i had only a bit of experience with them and it was great but its starting to get a bit old and starting to not work as well but apart from that its awesome whether your a beginner or a pro. i will definitely be sticking with Abu Garcia bait casters.

Guess I am a rookie when it comes to fishing this would be my first full "season". I have used both Penn's and Shimano's but then I tried my father-in-laws 5000c wow I loved the feel of it. So then went out and purchased a 6600C4 and strapped to a medium heavy action ugly stick. Love the combo, lets me reel in most of the fish we go for. Thinking of buying another reel Abu of course still debating between the Alphamar and the 7000i C3. Want the added capacity looking for a strong and durable reel for the bigger fish (striped bass, etc). Welcoming suggestions...
Casts a good distance and mostly accurate ( probably human error when it isn't).
I have to say I love my Abu Garcia C4 and will be hard pressed to switch I love the feel and easy maintenance.

Hey there, I personally own this product and a couple other similar ones to this one all from abu garcia and I recently happened to hook myself onto a 5'5" 75 pound alligator gar with my 6600 C4 and boy did it put up a nice fight! I thought the fish was about 50 pounds and since my line has an 80lb breaking strain, I did not give it much drag! after fighting it and landing in the boat, we saw that it was alot bigger than we thought! When we weighed it I found out that I had put my line through a lot of stress! Im just happy it made it! However, the next day I went onto the lake again and tried to fish it with it, when I clicked the button to cast, line would not come out, it basically didn't cast! Now I do not know if these reels are made for big alligator gars, or if it was my fault for not applying drag at all, but i was a little disappointed knowing that it broke down! Overall, the reel worked great and I really do like it its just that it broke down on me! I hope the same doesn't happen to all my other abu garcia reels!

the same thing happened to me when i hooked up with a big shark on my baitcaster, reel wouldnt cast very well or would get caught up when casting, it is because u fought the fish with so much drag, small reels can only handle so much.. you just have to ask yourself before tightening the drag up too much, is the fish worth the loss of your reel? usually if its that big the answer is probably yes.. ha

I've been fishing most of my life. A good friend got me to try out his ambasitor 6000. Loved it. went out and bought two for myself on 11ft night stick rods. let me remind you that was 5 years ago. The reels still work like like brand New they are used every weekend during the warm months. So this year I upgraded to the C4's this year. LOVE Them. I have them on 11ft sealine surf rods. biggest fish so far is a 32 pound shovel head. I cast my c4 just as far as my buddies pro rockets. brings in the fish with no problem. I have caught well over 80 catfish on my c4's this year. I am a Abu Garcia user for life

I love catfishing the tidal waters of the James River in Virginia. For two years now I have been using two AG 6600 C4 reels with 15 lb test line. I have landed several 20 to 30 lb. fish and I like the great drag system on this reel. When you are fighting a big head-shaker that is 2x heavier than your line test, it gives you confidence to know that your reel will do it's part without fail.
Two unrelated but important features of the 6600 C4's are ease of cleaning and bait clickers loud enough to wake you - between Midnight and 6:00 AM I get in a nod in now and then. The only thing that I have as a Con on these reels is that the bait clickers are hard to engage at times. When your hands are a bit slick it can be a pain. I have often sat there in the middle of the night thinking of how I could machine a better knob design or engagement mechanism. I plan to make some mods this winter and experiment when the big ones are biting.

My friend recommended this real, says its the real deal and thats no lie. Just an awesome real and my favorite for sure. Use it for Bass, Pike and Muskie. This reel has a good drag which is essential for fighting big fish. Going to purchase another one very soon! If you buy anything less you wasting your time. Spend $110 for the 6600C4 and you wont regret it

I recently purchased a 6600 to replace a 6000 that is 30 years old. I have owned 2 5000's and a 6000 for more years than I care to relate. My Dad purchased me my first 5K 40 years ago and I still use it today. He liked it so much, he bought himself one as well. We caught a lot of fish with these reels over the years. I love my Garcia's and will always remember my Dad when I pull them out. Thanks for the memories and keep making great products!

I bought two of these at the same time. I had never used a baitcaster before. The first trip out one reel was perfect and the other one "broke inside". Sent it off to repair and had it back in 5 days. Said a gear was not welded that should have been! The factory service center also changed to a power handle as I requested at no charge.
I have now cought dozens of reds with these reel and they are all I use. Works just as advertised.
