This is the rod for me, i will for sure extend my arsenal with more Veritas rods.
I paired mine with the Revo S 20 spinning reel, and if this combo isn't both sleek and lightweight i don't know what is.
The rod is super sensitive and for me there is no question about if its a fish or vegetation, the rod feels a bit stiff but as soon as you have a fish on it flexes in a way that gives me full control. I fish for big perch with the combo and i set a loot of pike even if that isn't my intentions. Even a 8 pound pike is easily controlled.
All in all the go to rod for me, all other rods feel dull and heavy now.
And as a bonus first time ever waking up and not feeling strain or pain in my casting shoulder.
Only minus i would give it would be, no rod sock. I want my equipment to be in perfect condition and the sock prevents scratches and preventing the rod to get stuck on trees and such. But that's it !
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've now purchased 4 Abu Garcia Veritas rods and just yesterday the fourth one broke, on a hook set ( second Veritas that broke on a hookset). I don't know what it is but these rods only last me a month if that. The last one lasted me a week and 3 small bass. I don't know if these rods where Pre damaged or what but I'd like some answers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It is important to understand that all V series rods are made out of high modulus graphite which provides excellent sensitivity in a lightweight design. With this in mind it is important to know that, regardless of rod manufacturer, high modulus graphite will be more susceptible to breakage under a heavy load if it is nicked or dinged or used in an improper manner such as “high sticking” on a hook set or slinging fish into the boat. These last two actions put the rod at extreme angles and pressure that can cause failure. Older and less expensive rods are typically constructed from composite/fiberglass. While more durable, the level of sensitivity, control and weight pales in comparison to high modulus graphite - think of it as the difference between using a typewriter (i.e. fiberglass/composite) vs. a modern day laptop (i.e. high modulus graphite). If they are cared for properly, you will not experience breakage issues with your high modulus Veritas rods. just bought this rod recently to replace my shimano volteus, this thing is very light compared to other rods i held at the stores, the hookset on this thing is great... haven't lost a fish yet on this rod... the back bone is strong and senstivity is very good.... i use this rod for topwater lures and buzz baits.....i have it paired up with a abu silver max, and i still pull in 3 lbers...going to upgrade to a abu revo stx gen 3 next year... you will not regret buying this rod... i got it on a in store special for $69.99 here in mn too good of a deal to pass up....

I bought a 6'6" med heavy fast action and I love it. It has quickly become my favorite fishing rod. After the 1st yr the top quide inlet fell out( I am not sure how it happened , just noticed it sliding down the line) and I kept reminding myself to bring it into store. I bought the warranty but lost my receipt. Will try and find replacement tip but for the money it is an excellent rod and worth replacing( I don't think the guide inlet falling out is indicative of the quality as it has happened over time to many of my other rods). Veritas has sold me and I will purchase another!
