First off I love my vendetta rods, but these veritas rods I'm not sold on yet. The three that ive gotten this year have had either breakage or guide inserts falling out. I called Abu's customer service and they took care of one rod, now the other two I just replaced the tip on one, and I have a local rod builder that replaced the guides for me. These rods are light weight which is great but there just not durable enough for my style of fishing I guess. I will definitely recommend the vendetta series though. Super tough had these for over 5 years and have never broke one.

Bought 2 fathers day. Both have broken guides. Guides rods are so soft they bend at a touch. Gander says sorry been more than a month. Had two in the rack with broken guides there they marked down and trying to get rid of.

I have only had this rod for 3 or 4 weeks now, it is the Veritas Med,Hvy 7 foot rod. I fish almost everyday. Today I set the hook on a 3.5 to 4 pounder and the last foot of the rod broke off. I take very well care of all my equipment, so I am baffled as to why this happened???

Thank you for reaching out to us. All Veritas rods carry a 3 year warranty and we will be happy to get your issue taken care of so you can get back to fishing. One of our customer service representatives has already been notified of your situation and will reach out to you at the email address that you submitted with this review.

It is important to understand that all V series rods are made out of high modulus graphite which provides excellent sensitivity in a lightweight design. With this in mind it is important to know that, regardless of rod manufacturer, high modulus graphite will be more susceptible to breakage under a heavy load if it is nicked or dinged or used in an improper manner such as “high sticking” or slinging fish into the boat. These last two actions put the rod at extreme angles and pressure that can cause failure. Older and less expensive rods are typically constructed from composite/fiberglass. While more durable, the level of sensitivity, control and weight pales in comparison to high modulus graphite - think of it as the difference between using a typewriter (i.e. fiberglass/composite) vs. a modern day laptop (i.e. high modulus graphite). If they are cared for properly, you will not experience breakage issues with your high modulus Veritas rods. Simply use care during transport, storage and avoid slinging fish into the boat or high sticking. Again, thank you for reaching out to us and we will be in contact with you shortly.

I had bought the 2 piece Veritas to go with my Revo S earlier this year. Last week whilst out fishing, the first piece of the rod broke into 3 when I got a fish weighing merely 200grams. Quite shocked to see that happen.

Sorry to hear this angler had problems with the Veritas Rod. Hard to believe this rod broke like that. I use them in Tournaments and one of the best rods on the market for the money. Never seen a rod break in 3 pieces. That a first. But the warranty is great.

I purchased 4 of these rods and 4 revos to go with them. 3 of the 4 rods all had issues within 2 weeks. 2 of the rods had guides come loose and had to be repaired. The third rod lost the insert out of the tip and had to be replaced. All were simple repairs but to have to make these repairs on brand new rods seems wrong.

I just ordered Veritas Rod 7 ft MH
Posted May 8, 2014
I just ordered one from Cabelas I hope I didn't make a mistake. I'm reading a lot of comments about broken rod tips and eyes falling apart. Not looking good. I understand your warranty is good but who wants to spend the summer replacing poles and wondering if you can get the next Walleye in the boat before the tip snaps?
