I have two Veritas Rods medium power and medium heavy my medium heavy is awesome while my medium has broken twice the eyes just break over night I put it up for the night on my rod rack and the next morning it was broken this is the second tjme
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have change most of my rods over now to the Veritas, mostly casting and one spinning. I really like the quality for the money. I have tried other rods in the same price range I am sticking with the Veritas. I have confidence in this rod and that helps when your not very good and still leaning. I love to bass fish, and this is a great sport. Very addicting.
The one suggestion I would make in general is on the web site. It would help if Abu Garcia would add the suggested use for a rod in the description that would help me a guy that is still learning. I might not know why 7MH would be better than 7-3 if I don't know what the intention of the factory is. Maybe I am missing this info on the web site somewhere,

I have broken three of these rods in the past 2 months. YES THREE. Two of them broke on me on hook sets on fish that were only 2 pounds each. Both rods broke in exactly the same spot. The third broke when I swung a 1.5 lb fish into the boat. Needless to say, I'm not very happy with the product. I don't know if I got a bad batch of the veritas rods or what but I don't think I'll ever buy another veritas. Also, my partner who was fishing a tourney for $50k this past week set the hook on a potential money fish and "SNAP!" There went his as well. Three Veritas rods in two days....... I really liked the feel of these rods but i need it to perform as good as it feels. I'm looking forward to seeing how Abu intends on handling this.

It is important to understand that there is a huge difference in materials used in the construction of cheaper rods versus high modulus graphite rods such as the V series. All V series rods are made out of high modulus graphite which provides excellent sensitivity in a lightweight design. With this in mind it is important to understand that, regardless of rod manufacturer, high modulus graphite is be more susceptible to breakage under a heavy load if it is nicked or dinged or used in an improper manner such as “high sticking” or slinging fish into the boat or bank. These last two actions put the rod at extreme angles and pressure that can cause failure. Older and less expensive rods are typically constructed from composite/fiberglass. While more durable, the level of sensitivity, control and weight pales in comparison to high modulus graphite - think of it as the difference between using a typewriter (i.e. fiberglass/composite) vs. a modern day laptop (i.e. high modulus graphite). If they are cared for properly, you will not experience breakage issues with your high modulus Veritas rods, just be sure to use care when transporting or storing your rods to avoid nicks and dings. i have 3 veritas rods . the VRCM66-5 and the VRC711-7 along with the VRC76-6. the rod guide tip insert on the VRC76-6 keeps falling out . now im concerned about the other guides . please change these guides .
