Just purchased this casting rod for greater and nice action outlook. But used for 3rd times fishing fighting large predator fish was caused my new veritas rod broken into 3 small pieces.very disappointing on the strength performance of this rod.
The yellow one is the 7lber, the other is the 5. Yes, they were both released afterwards.
I owned the casting 6'6 1 piece medium/heavy, and fished with it for about 9 months. I had the rod paired with the ambassadur. This combination was unbelievable. I could go from flipping the brush to throwing cranks without any problems at all. Sadly, my rod broke into 3 pieces yesterday. I caught a 5lb largemouth, and on the very next cast, I hooked up with a 7lber. As I brought the big boy in, the rod folded on me in 3 seperate places. Now, I am without a rod, but I did manage to land the fish! I would buy the rod again due to the fact that it's sensitivity allowed me to feel the bite in the first place.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have bought a few of the Verita rods and really like the feel of them, but after sending one back and breaking two more on a 10hr trip away from home it has left me with bad results from this product. Heavy action rod broke on a hookset and a Medium heavy broke just above the handle during a rough boat ride across Falcon Lake in the rod box. I will spend the extra money for a higher end rod from now on.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It is important to understand that there is a big difference in materials used in the construction of cheaper rods versus high modulus graphite rods such as the Veritas series.
All V series rods are made out of high modulus graphite which provides excellent sensitivity in a lightweight design. With this in mind it is important to understand that, regardless of rod manufacturer, high modulus graphite is be more susceptible to breakage under a heavy load if it is nicked or dinged or used in an improper manner such as “high sticking” or slinging fish into the boat or bank. The rough ride that you described with the rod in the boat box can cause damage to any rod that is made of high modulus graphite. While more durable, the level of sensitivity, control and weight of cheaper rods pales in comparison to high modulus graphite - think of it as the difference between using a typewriter (i.e. fiberglass/composite) vs. a modern day laptop (i.e. high modulus graphite). If they are cared for properly, you will not experience breakage issues with your high modulus Veritas rods. Simply use care during transport, storage and avoid slinging fish into the boat or high sticking. Thanks for reaching out to us and we will be in contact with your shortly.

I own almost the entire Veritas collection of bait casting rods and have had no problem until recently. While bringing in a 4 lb Largemouth my 7" MH Micro-Guide snapped about 14' from the tip. I contacted Abu Garcia's customer service and they gave me a 4 step easy set of instructions. And long story short in 7 days I had a "new" rod. *I'm a retired US Army Soldier and now work as a corporate recruiter and hire employees for a living and have to maintain higher than usual customer service. BUT...wow...Abu Garcia I call that "outstanding" customer service!!
