I got the schooling rod with a revo reel, and I got to say it's like power in my hands! It castes a mile feels great, I can feel the rig even in choppy water. I love this rod/reel.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am a Die Hard Abu Garcia fanatic and my brother who serves in the Army and is currently in Afghanistan, he purchase 2 micro guide Veritas rods. I fish casually 3-4 times a week and when I receive them I was like a kid in the Candy store but after I say about 3 weeks in and one after another both rods just snap in half. To this day I can’t explained how that happen cause I am using a crankbait & Jerkbait on the other and now I am hurt, upset and financially not able to afford to buy two $100 rods. After reading a few reviews I see this is common for this rod and as a avid Abu Garcia Fan I have 3 Revo’s reel with one of them on a cheap Wal-Mart brand baitc aster rod that cost about $15-$20 and to my opinion it’s holding up better that both my $100 dollars rods that supposed to better. I guess you paying for the name and very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good morning and thank you for your support and your brother’s service. We are sorry to hear that you had issues with two Veritas rods. The good news is that all Veritas rods carry a 3 year warranty and we will be happy to help. One of our customer service representatives has already been notified about your issue and will contact you at the email address that you provided with this review. As far as how our rods compare to cheaper rods, it is important to understand that there is a huge difference in materials used in the construction of cheaper rods versus high modulus graphite rods such as the Veritas series.

All V series rods are made out of high modulus graphite which provides excellent sensitivity in a lightweight design. With this in mind it is important to understand that, regardless of rod manufacturer, high modulus graphite is be more susceptible to breakage under a heavy load if it is nicked or dinged or used in an improper manner such as “high sticking” or slinging fish into the boat or bank. These last two actions put the rod at extreme angles and pressure that can cause failure. Older and less expensive rods are typically constructed from composite/fiberglass. While more durable, the level of sensitivity, control and weight pales in comparison to high modulus graphite - think of it as the difference between using a typewriter (i.e. fiberglass/composite) vs. a modern day laptop (i.e. high modulus graphite). If they are cared for properly, you will not experience breakage issues with your high modulus Veritas rods. Simply use care during transport, storage and avoid slinging fish into the boat or high sticking. Thanks for reaching out to us and we will be in contact with your shortly.

I have 2 veritas 7 foot Rods and they have both broke in the same exact place right above the 2nd to last eyelet. I love the rods but I am hesitant about buying 2 more to replace the two that broke. The first one broke within the first month and the other the first week. For a 100$ rod seems it would hold up better on hook sets less than a months worth of use. I would recommend the veritas rod but be hesitant on the 7foot spinning rods.

I Brother bought me 2 of the micro Veritas rods as a gift and he in the army in Afghanistan. I am a casual Bass fisherman and after 3 week of fishing with them they both broke in half. I am very particular and crazy about my Sbu Garcia reel and rods. Just cast my rod normaly and they just broke like that. He spent about over $200 plus dollors and I am with out a rod. I purchased 2 cheap rod and put them through stress and haven't had the experience of breaking on me.

Fished with them only once. So far I like the way they fell and handle. I have the Veritas Winch 7'0" M and the 6'9"MH. Looking to purchase one more for a frog and heavy cover fishing. They fishes much better than they feels.

Great rods but must have got a bad batch
Posted April 10, 2013
I have 2 7 foot MH and M veritas spinning rods and the both broke in the same exact place right above the 2nd to the last eye. I own all veritas and vendetta rods and would recommend them to anybody. There very light and are great paired with a revo reel. I'm hesitant on buying anymore veritas spinning rods because I've bought 2 and they both broke in the same exact place and both were from hook sets.
