I absolutely hate this as a huge fan of Abu Garcia, but this rod is terrible.I fish 3 days a week and know good rods from bad.....the pole broke casting a hoola hopper!!!!! I bought the bass pro warranty with it for $20.00 extra and I don't even want to use it! I'm sorry Abu this rod is a dud.... Maybe I'll try another one of your rods but have no interest in this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Veritas 7' Medium, Revo SX, and a 7lb LMB!
The Veritas is an amazing rod! If you are on the fence, or can't decide between this rod or another and aren't sure wich one to buy, let me give you a hand with your decition......GET THIS ONE! The strength and sensitivity of the Veritas is second to none in this price range. I bought my Veritas as a back up for my main medium action set up (a Carrot Stick) and it only took me a few casts before I started fishing the Veritas more than my Carrot Stick! I would how ever, HIGHLY RECOMEND the Micro Guide series over the standard guide version. I'll be honest, it was the Micro Guides that drew me to the Veritas in the first place. I've always loved Abu reels but didn't give their rods much thought until I discovered that they made a Micro Guide rod. And to me, it really makes all the difference in the world! It's lighter, has a better balance and feel, and improves your casting distance. I really wish they would come out with some other Micro Guide rods. So give the Veritas a try, you will be glad you did!
I loved this rod the first time I used it. I read alot of reviews on how they snap, but I decided to bite the bullet and try one anyway, well the second trip out, I went to set the hook and sure enough the rod snaped, But the feel of the rod is awsome, but paying 100 for a rod, I dont wont it to snap!!

Ring not alligned

This rod performed well for me (6.6 spinning) ... from sensitivity to battle.. but i noticed the strange thing is my rod lowest ring slightly slanted to the left after i seated my reel which is kinda strange... is it due the reel handle (lower part) were slanted to the right? i went to the shop and he exchanged one for me... i requested to fix a reel and check the alignment, guest what all of them (4 veritas tried) were not aligned with the ring slanted slightly to the left... it is i'm not aware that this is a feature or merely a manufacturing defect. i love this rod so much just that a slanted ring feel really strange... shop owner unable to explain.. i end up exchanged with a old Hornet with some extra cost.. frankly i'm still moaning for a Veritas coz it's stiffer and suitable for me.... i'm a ABU fan, QC really need to be improved.....

I have 4 veritas rods had 6 inches snap off one swinging a 2 lb large mouth into the boat. Took it back to cabin bait & tackle they replaced it no questions ask. Good waranty good service.
