I bought the 6ft. 9in. Medium Light version to use as a drop shot/light soft plastic rod. I love how light and thin the rod is but the action is a looooot stiffer than any other medium light rod i have ever used. I have medium rods that have a way lighter action than this. I'm sure it would be good for shaky head or some type of light jig but if you're needing a medium light rod this one is far from it. I know every rod is different but this one missed by a long shot.

Hello and thanks for reaching out to us. As a whole, our rod power ratings are sometimes described as being more aggressive when compared to some other brands. Our rod engineers work alongside bass pros and our field teams to dial in the actions & power for each SKU. After extensive testing and tweaking, the actions are finalized and we go to production. With that being said, the Veritas VRS69-4 is a medium light action and has been engineered for 1/8-1/2 oz baits so you should have no trouble using it for drop shotting & light soft plastics. One thing to note is that rod power ratings are subjective, but we value your input and will pass your thoughts on to our engineers. Thanks and have a great week!

I have a 7foot MH and is the best for crank baits. A revo stx in a 6:4.1 ratio is a great combo. Can't be beat.

Let me put it this way...As a tournament bass fisherman, I've evolved from buying what I think I need to what I know I need. I now own 7 Veritas baitcasters and 6 spinning, of various lengths and powers. I've replaced all my St Croix rods with these. They are more sensative, balanced and extremely light weight. Great warranty ABU!

I have 4 of these baitcating rods. Everyone of them have hauled in some fish. I went from a regular grapite rod to these nano tech rods and the feel and sensitivity is not even close to the others. I feel the slightest tick...they load up great...the backbone on mine (3 MH 7"0" and 1 MH 7'6") are just great. I've sold several for Abu just from friends using mine with Revo SX , Revo SX HS , Revo STX and a Revo S. Each one feels balanced...casts great...sets the hook great and are durable. I would definatly buy more when I need one and now just purchased a spinning rod , the Vendetta, and am looking forward to using it tomorrow.

I was keen to buy a 7'11" Veritas, for Salmon fishing here in NZ. I love ABU gear, and have11 ABU reels and 3 of their collectible older rods, which I still use with confidence. But having read so many reports of breakage and component failure, I think my money would be better spent elsewhere. A shame, because I do love the brand.
