I loved how light and balanced it felt with an Orra SX. Was dropshotting for smallish fish just to play. Setting the hook on the 3rd bass the rod snapped at the 3rd guide. It barely had any use and it was gentle hook set. Rod appears to have a thick layer of white paint. No obvious reason for the break except maybe the guide cut the blank when wrapped. Disappointed.......
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good morning - we are sorry to hear you had an issue with your Veritas rod as this is not normal. From what you have described, it sounds as though the rod could have been damaged in shipping/transit/store shelf which ultimately caused the failure. All V series rods carry a 3 year warranty & we will be happy to take care of your case. One of our customer service representatives will reach out to you at the email address that you submitted with this review. We understand your frustration and will work hard to get your issue taken care of so you can get back to fishing. If you ever need to get in touch with us by phone, we can be contacted at 1.800.228.4272.

I bought this after seeing my local dealer demonstate the durability of the rod by standing on it. This guy dresses out about 275lbs+ so my eyes about bugged out when he didn't crush it! I couldn't wait to try it out with my new Revo STX. What a combination! Anyway back to the rod. This rod is so light and sensative, that its simply amazing. Don't let that weight fool you, this thing has plenty of backbone too. The guides looked funny bent forward but the dealer said they're supposed to. Well I now own 4 of them and will buy more when the need arises. This is a fantastic rod, so what are you waiting for? You won't be sorry.

This rod is great! Aside from just looking sexy, its extremely sturdy. Im a little bit of a clutz when it comes to rods, and have killed more rods then i would like to admit in the fan. Well, this rod pretty much solves my problems, its survived countless times hitting my celing fan, while the fan was on its highest speed! There isnt any nicks or dings or anything wrong with this rod! I would recommend this to anybody. Great product abu!

I spent the better part of 3 months researching, testing and trying to decide on a new rod. I had some criteria like split EVA grip, super light weight, 100% exposed reel seat, plenty of backbone, hook keeper on top of he rod and the rod had to look nice as well. I was eventually going to replace every rod I have with one brand and style. Not only was the Veritas series of rods very highly praised, it fit every one of my criteria for a new rod. I have never been more pleased with a rod than I have with the Veritas series.
I purchased the 7 foot medium Micro Guide rod. I fish top water, especially popr's, about 60% of my time. I wanted a dedicated top water rod with a fast tip and a medium action. I needed a rod to load the small top water baits. I am shore bound, so I any amount of distance I can get is key to landing fish. With the extremely small Popr style baits, this rod is amazing. It loads up perfect. Distance is amazing as well. I am using 30 pound braid on a Revo S reel, paired with this rod. The combo is amazing.
The 7 foot medium rod weights in at 4.2 ounces. One of the lightest rods I have ever held. Rod has 10 guides including the tip. All the guides are titanium for weight savings and the inserts are coated so you can use any type of line with it. The Texas rig hook keeper is very strong. This was my first rod with a Texas rig style hook keeper. Its very nice not to have to pull the hook out of plastics to secure them.
I had also been using this rod for 3 and 4 inch swim baits, rigged with 1/4 ounce hooks, large jitter bugs and 7.5 to 10 inch weightless worms. All loaded very well and gave me no issues. The rod is rated to can handle 1/4-5/8 ounce baits. I went further and tried a 1/2 jig. It was way to much for this rod.
I absolutely fell in love with this rod. I was so satisfied that I have no replaced all my of casting rods with Veritas rods. Give this rod a shot, you wont be disappointed.
The following week, I purchased the 7'6" Winch series. This is my dedicated crank bait rod. I have used this with heavy 15' DD all the way up to 3' lipless crank baits. No issues with either one. This rod has a Medium Heavy power and moderate action. This is perfect for loading crank baits. I am running 17# fluorocarbon with this rod and with the moderate action of the tip, it has plenty of give for hook sets with fluoro. With the long length of this rod, There is no limit to the distance I can get. Being shore bound this is a major plus.
I followed up with a 7'11" heavy model. I wanted a heavy duty rod for pitching jigs. I fish jigs about 35% of the time so I wanted to have a dedicated Jig rod. I needed it to be strong, have a fast tip and plenty of backbone. This rod has it all. I would not recommend using this rod as a do it all rod or for a lot of casting and retrieving. Its a very heavy rod compared to the other Veritas series. But for pitching or flipping, this is the perfect rod. I use 1/2 ounce and 1 ounce jigs with larger trailers and this rod has more than enough to handle them. Rod loads very well if you do decide to so some casting with it. I get some serious distance with it as well. 10 guides including the tip.
My last purchase of the Veritas rods was the 7' heavy action. I was looking for a good heavy duty rod for Texas rigging or for smaller jigs. I decided on the heavy power do it having an extra fast tip. I am shore bound so having that extra fast tip helps to really zing the bait out there. I have also been using this to throw small swim baits. Rod loads them very well. Rod has 10 guides including the tip. This has a really thick backbone too. I had planned on going with the MH version of this length, but wanted the extra fast tip and the ability to 1 1/2 ounce baits. This rod was perfect for what I needed.
Over all I could not be happier with these rods. I have four of them now and will be looking to add another soon. With the large variety of powers, actions and lengths, there is a rod for just about every freshwater application you can use. I have purchased a lot of gear for fishing in the past. None of those purchases gave me the satisfaction as did when I purchased these rods. For the money, these rods are in a class all their own.
