I fish weekly and in tournaments. I fished this rod in all conditions and it holds up to the promise. I agree with the comment about rod care and breakage. I have seen how packages are treated during shipment and a lot of damage could start there. That is why I drove 2 hours to avoid shipping. If you take care of this rod IT WILL take care of you when you want to land your catch.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I was fishing a Championship Bass Tournament just last week on Lake Wheeler in Alabama and needed one big bass to make the cut and went to sent the hook on a Big Bass and snapped my Veritas in half needless to say cost me the cut. I hope I can be compensated for at least a new rod or I will have to change brands unfortunately.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are sorry to hear about about your problem. We will send you an email shortly to get more information. Sometimes rods are damaged in shipping or at retail causing break. For that reason there is a three year warranty on all rods to ensure that rods damaged in shipping are replaced.

I special ordered 6 of these rods from a local tackle shop in town, 4 of them arrived with eyelets that were glued completly shut!, the other two that were usable I took fishing in neighboorhood pond. 1 rod broke on the first hookset of the year(lost the fish on top of that) almost 4' down from tip, the other caught a couple of leaves on a retrieve. With 1/4oz spinnerbait out of water and in the air I pulled leaves off of hook and snap, broke another rod just past 1st eyelet. All rods were replaced by tackleshop, but come on! get it right the first time. Also, no matter how hard you tighten the reel screwlock it always loosens up making reel flop back and forth. Aside from all that their very light and sensitive. Maybe stick to making reels or work out kinks before marketing new products

I have had the veritas for maybe 2 weeks. After catching a 3lb. large mouth bass, the the tip of the rod broke, the break happened right before the secound eye from the tip of the rod. Although this rod is sensitive I have not found it reliable or strong. This ruined a very expensive fishing trip.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have the same rod and it broke in the same exact place after a few uses, got it for Christmas and dont have a receipt, and they would warranty it. I have probably 25 ABU reels some of which are probably 20 years old, cant beat them but this rod is another story, will have to try a St Croix and see how the are

Ive never broken a rod - cheap or expensive - fishing. I fish 5 days a week and the ONLY times a rod has snapped on me was because I abused it in some way. If you ever stepped in the rod - no matter how lightly - it will do this. If you ever "yanked" a lure from a snag - a rod will do this. If you ever let it fall against the side of the boat - it can happen. Even a scratch (ESPECIALLY IN MORE SENSITIVE RODS) will turn into a snap like this. To be fair I've had rods shipped to me where the "carrier" obviously abused the tube it came in. I just send them back without even checking them. I don't want what happened to you to hapen to me. If Abu sent you a replacement with no questions asked then awesome - probably should have sent you a couple spools of spiderwire for your inconvenience.
