Never made it to the lake

Bought this rod and never made it to the lake. After spooling up I gave a little tug on the line and the rod snapped into 3 pieces. I have never snapped a rod like this before in all the years I have been fishing. Seems to be very fragile. Exchanged it for another brand at Bass Pro Shops. Hope it was a bad blank, Love ABU Revo reels but not sure about the rods as of now.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
