I have owned 2 of these rods and 2 Veritas rods with great pleasure. The only issue that I have had is that one of the Vendetta's caved in and snapped under the pressure of a hook set recently. I have initiated contact with Abu in regards to having the rod replaced (fingers crossed) as I have heard/read mixed reviews about the replacement process. I used to only buy a competitor (who will remain unnamed) due to the fact that I never had a problem having a rod or reel replaced. Hopefully Abu will stand behind their 3 year rod replacement guarantee.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just bought a vendetta rod and when i got snagged on a cat tail while i was fishing in my pond i tried to pull the hook out of the cat tail but instead 6 pound line breaking the tip of my rod snapped. So than i put a spar tip on my rod and i caught a few sunfish i when i get a bite from a 10 inch bullhead the rod broke another eye down. ;(
I would recommend this to a friend!

The V Series rods are constructed out of a high modulus graphite material that makes them ultra lightweight and extremely sensitive. I purchased a 7' M-F Abu Garcia Vendetta rod back in March of this year. During a fishing trip, I was casting 1/4oz spinnerbait and the rod tip snapped on the cast. I wasn't casting hard, since the creek I was on was only about 25' across; In fact it was more of a light 'lob' shot. While reviewing my options for returning the rod, I found that the shipping costs for the rod were nearly as much as replacing it, even if I 'cut it in half' as recommended by customer support ($65 for full length, $52 cut in half), as I have to ship FedEx. That's ridiculous and I will be replacing this rod with a competitor that can simply be returned to an authorized dealer should anything happen while under warranty.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are sorry to hear about your broken Vendetta. As you know, all Abu Garcia V series rods carry a three year warranty. The warranty policy is the way it is because most retailers do not carry enough backstock to replace rods if the rod was purchased elsewhere. Basic Fedex ground shipping charges approximately $10 from your location if you cut the rod in half. However, we do have Warranty centers that do handle these transactions. Shipping via Fed Ex is not $10

I spoke directly with FedEx, the shipping cost for a 4' package (non-FedEx package over their length of 28") is $52 from my location, not $10 as you claim. FedEx informed me that the $10 fee must be some 'special pricing' you are getting.

Two broken guides (repaired at a local tackle shop) and now broken rod near the tip with very minimal stress.
Poor craftsmanship.
I own the Villain and two Veritas rods and hopefully this doesn't happen to them as well....

The V series rods are made with high modulus graphite which make them ultra lightweight and sensitive. The high performance material requires care when transporting and storing to eliminate the risk of nicks and abrasions on the rod.
