I caught a 2lb bass this morning in a pond. Once I got the fish
near the bank my rod broke just above the bottom guide. I was
able to grab the broken top half and pull the fish onto the land.
Sad to say, my cheap 6lb line held up better than this expensive rod. I have included a pic of the rod and the fish. I just got this rod for father's day and this was the second time I used it. All in all, if a rod can't handle a 2lb bass, it ain't worth buying. Especially at the price of this rod.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

i paired a silvermax low profile casting reel with a 7' mh action vendetta1peice rod. not only is the combo sharp looking, but feel, balance, and sensitivity are spot on. this pairing beats out some more costly combo's hands down that i have used. i have used this combo for still fishing, top water baits, spinners, and others. very pleased and happy with this set up.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have grown up with Abu Garcia products. My family used them before I came along and my Papa introduced me to AG before I could walk on my own good.
Recently, a local sporting goods store had a "tent sale" during which I was able to purchase four (4) Vendetta rods; 3 VTC73-6 and 1 VTC73-7 rods. I have three Revo reels (2 Revo STX-HS, 1 Revo S), a Black Max reel and two 5500C3 reels. I had been using your Ambassadeur "Tournament Grade" rods for these reels but had this excellent opportunity to "upgrade". My wife said "Happy early Father's Day" and told me to have fun.
Than evening, I didn't get to "test drive" them due to extremely bad weather (lightening) so I spent the evening transferring my three Revo reels and one of the 5500C3 reels to the new rods. The next day (Friday) was beautiful with blue bird skies and a nice breeze so I took advantage of the day and went out to "test" my new set-up.
In the beginning, I had some fun with a few short strikes and hits by fish too small to take the hook. Then, ironically enough, I had a 2# largemouth viciously hit at exactly 2:00pm. Less than five minutes later... well, I'll let the photos speak for themselves.
The Vendetta rods are perfectly balanced for the Revo reels but they work exceptionally well with the Black Max (Max Line of reels) as well as the traditional baitcasters. Their sensitivity is awesome compared to other rods in their class. As an example, I fished a tournament on Saturday, after having bought the rods on Thursday, and felt every little nibble and bump. I purchased the VTC73-7 (Heavy) to use for throwing an umbrella ("Alabama") rig and it handled the task extremely well.
BTW... the Vendetta VTC73-7 rod also works very well in flipping situations!
The Vendetta line of rods are definitely a series I will be recommending to anyone who needs a good rod but doesn't have a lot of money to drop on one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I find that hard to believe... A 5 inch fish breaking a rod? And a vendetta on top of that? Do warranties cover rods accidentally slammed in tailgates?

This story seems a bit fishy.

I wish you would have included a picture of the rod tip/where and how it was broke. I have broken several rods throughout my years of fishin, 90% of them are from my own clumsiness. Pinching in a car door, a sharp jab to the tip against an object, unnoticed hair line cracks, holding the rod at an odd angle under weight. I also fish Ugly Stick rods because most of them can put up with the abuse I described above 'better' then a graphite rod, but at the same time you have to appreciate the sensitivity of a quality graphite rod compared to a Stick.
