Rod broke on my first time out. It was covered under warrantee so I returned it. Had to pay the shipping myself. They sent a new one 3 weeks later and the tip broke off of the new replacement rod on my next trip out. I have installed a new tip myself because I did not want to pay the shipping again and be out of the rod for another 3 weeks. I have yet been able to test it for sensitivity, action or craftsmanship. The $25.00 rebate has been spent on return shipping.
Note: This is my first Abu Garcia Rod purchase however, I have been a Abu Garcia casting & spinning reel purchaser my whole life and they have been "FANTASTIC".

I have had a Vendetta casting model, 7 MH action for 2 years now. I use it primarily for bass and northern fishing in Northern WI. I was a little reluctant when first buying it as Abu has not really been known for their rods in recent years. Also the price for a rod that offered the features that this had made me a little skeptical. But I was hypnotized by its cool looks and feel. I normally use St. Croix and Fenwick which are both extremely sensitive. The problem is that they are too sensitive! The Vendetta has just the right amount of sensitivity to let you know when to set the hook. I get more hook ups with this rod than my other St. Croix and Fenwicks because of this reason. It has held up to a lot of average to slightly above average fish including northerns over 35 inches. The only concern I have with these rods is that while the guides are good brands and great inserts, the 1 legged feet start too low on the rod. Only the bottom 2 are 3 legged feet. I think the three legged guides should go up the rod at least 2 guides further. The St. Croix's and Fenwicks all seem to have more guides set up with 3 legged feet which adds to the durability and takes pressure off of the guide itself and better distributes pressure throughout the rod length. However, while I am saying that this does concern me, I have yet to have a problem related to any of the guides. I have noticed other reviews however where this has been an issue along with the tip. I also think Abu could improve this rod by adding 1 more guide a little closer to the tip to take some of the pressure off of it. This again is another trademark of higher end rods that could easily be implemented. I have also noted that other reviews have had problems with broken tips. However again I have not had any problems. My final comments are that it is a good quality rod that also sports cool looks, has the perfect amount of sensitivity and for me personally has held up to many fish without any problems. I also really like the design of the reel seat and grip.
