Great rod overall. The sensitivity is amazing and the action is great. Casts well and the rod is well built. I'll be getting another

Very disappointed that the rod broke on my first time out with it. I loved the feel of the rod while using it. I got a bite and when I set the hook, the rod snapped in half!! Unfortunately, I can't find my receipt from Walmart.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

First day the rod broke with the slightest bending of the pole; I have fished for fifty years and never experienced anything like it. I returned the rod to the store and received a replacement, hopefully this one will do better.

This rod broke the first day I used it. I see responses from Abu Garcia saying that the rod must have been nicked. I bought the rod at WalMart and who is to say that my rod was not nicked when I bought it. I would like to see the rods sealed in a tube if there is a problem with this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the sensitivity and feel, but... BROKEN

I have the Vendetta spinning 6'9"ML that I love to use for smallmouth. It has excellent feel, touch and is fast. It has limitations however. I recently broke the tip off it when trying to lift a 2lb smallmouth into the boat. I have been using this rod weekly for a year probably. The guides are nice, and grip is nice. Had a little trouble with a skeet reese victory reel not staying tight in the seat, but switched to a shimano and it has stayed tight.
I miss the sensitivity and feel when I use other rods, and will have to be more careful with this one [after warranty repair.]
Bottomline: This is a high performance rod when it comes to finesse, however it certainly has limits on durability and strength. I hope Abu can come up with a less brittle modulus and still get the same feel and touch.
Also have a M casting veritas which I like so far. I returned a M vengeance casting after it broke.
