I purchased a 7'6" VNGC76-7 early last year because i wanted a strong rig to cast umbrella rigs. I have not been disappointed. I know it's on the lower scale of your graphite rods, but has held up very well. I also own 2 of the Veritas rods for my MGX and Revo S 3rd gen. And they have done so well.
I'm wondering how the Vengeance will hold up to catfishing this coming spring as I intend to get a couple more?

Enjoyed the big reds of Cape Canaveral no motor zone. Down side was my second use of this rod (VNGS66-5) showing rust on every eyelet. The rod received the same freshwater spray down as all my other rods over many years, none of which ever showed this type of break down. This rod less than six months old. Will use it in only freshwater in the future and purchase another rod for reds.

Hello and thanks for reaching out to us. While the Vengeance series offers excellent actions and value for the freshwater angler, it is not designed for saltwater use. If you plan on fishing saltwater, check out our Volatile series of rods as they have been engineered with components that can handle the harsh conditions of a saltwater environment. We are always here to help you out - if you would like to speak about this issue with one of our team members, please reach out to us at 1.800.228.4272. Have a great weekend.

I bought this rod at the start of the year 2012. This was to be my "go-to" rod for just about everything. I know it's not how you're supposed to use the rod, but I'm a bit strapped for cash so I went with this one. This rod totally beat my expectations for the cost. I hear a lot about the rod not being durable or strong. I disagree. I've gotten the rod tip almost parallel to the reel and it still works perfectly. I once dropped a 32oz bottle full of water on the rod tip. It didn't have any effect and I kept fishing the rest of the day. Lastly, I always like to have a rod that not only works well, but looks awesome too. Abu Garcia never fails in that district.
