had about a 3lbs fish on the rod broke 2 eyes down and i just bought it that day brand new i liked it intill that happen all of my stuff is abu garcia i love abu garcia but the rod is a fluke

I bought this rod when i started baitcasting and paired it up with a Shimano Caenen. This made a nice lightweight combo that looked pretty sharp. The rod was actually more sensitive than i expected, and the actual blank itself held up quite well. However like many people on here stated i got the all too common epoxy cracks at the guides, mine is cracked at the bottom guide and the third and fourth guide up and still ok behind the guide but have seperated from the epoxy leaving a gap in front of the guide foot. Although this has not made the rod unusable by any means it was dissapointing. The other thing is that the metal trim ring (for lack of a better word) right at the fron to the grip ahead of the reel seat fell out after about 5 days of fishing. I had to epoxy this back on to stop it from rattling around as there was no way to just remove it. After all this i should have just returned it but i could not find my receipt so I am likely just stuck with it. However even after this i still want to buy a Veritas and try my luck with it. Aside from all the issues, its still a very light sensitive rod for the price.

I purchased 2 Vengeance VGS70-5 7' medium O1C11BK rods and put Cardinal 102 reels on them. The first cast with one of the rods it broke in two, three guides from the end. This does not instill confidenance in these rods. So far the other has been ok, but for how long? I have had good success with other Abu Garcia equipment in the past, but would not reccommend this rod.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

New looks, same problems.

Just got the 7'6" Heavy casting rod in the mail. Bummer. The third guide from the tip is 1/4 inch out of line from the rest of them. Not bent, actually set in epoxy that way -see pictures-. Epoxy from the rod ran onto the foam grip when it was made. And last but not least, in typical Vengeance fashion, the epoxy around the guides was cracked, brand new right out of the tube -see pictures-. The new looks are great and these grips are the most comfortable grips I've used...even better than my Veritas, Falcon, and Mojo Bass. However, everything about this rod screams $50. I have had two of these before this one and figured maybe the updates made them worth having. I was wrong. I have had three of these now and every one of them had cracked epoxy around the guides when they arrived in the mail. Tired of having to pay to ship them back and for S&H on AG's end. Their reels are definitely worth having, but I'm weening myself off of their rods. I have had 4 of them now -Veritas and Vengeance- that have either broken or arrived with manufacture defects.
