I picked up one of these rods 'on-the-fly' because of it's low price. Not really paying much attention to the action or length, I walked out with a 6'6 Heavy action rod. I was intending to get a MH and realized this once I got home. It is now my 'frog rod' for throwing topwater baits into thick slop and weeds to haul the big pigs out. So far, it has done just that. I have it paired with an Orra SX spooled with 50 pound Sufix 832....no hawg is too large for this setup! I would have goven this 5 stars, but I did run into a minor issue with craftsmanship...the piece of foam that goes around the reel locking piece had came loose. I quickly fixed the problem with some strong epoxy glue. Problem hasn't returned.
I was happy with every aspect of this product but one...on my second fishing trip one of the eye covers popped off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I won this rod last year at BerkleyBigFish.com. I was 1st runner-up for a fishing trip with Hank Parker. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised the first time I used it. I was surf fishing on the north side of Boca Grande Pass, Florida, when I hooked into an 80 pound Manta Ray. The fight lasted for 1 hr. and 20 minutes. I don't think you can punish rod of this class any more severely than I did that day. if you want a great rod without breakin the bank this is it, sensitivity, balance, and plenty of power for solid hook sets pair it with a cardinal reel and your set for life
