I fish every weekend with my two kids on our boat in long beach harbor and off the coast and have multiple setups, my setups before the Black Max ran me $350-$400 before line. Turns out I like the Black Max the best for casting accuracy and distance. My 8 year old daughter highjacked it from me because she likes it so much, I am heading down today to by 2 more.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been using this combo for about 1 year now and I have had not a single issue with it yet. The reel is smooth and casts great. The rod is sensitive and has a excellent backbone for those hard hooksets when pulling big bass out of heavy cover. (in my experience, both 6'6'' and 7' rods are strong). For about $70, it is still working like a charm for me and is well worth taking a look at if your looking into a baitcaster combo and not spend a fortune on it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Went out today and got a combo and got everything ready to go fish and got out on the boat and first cast the rob broke at the top I mean come on I spend $90 on this not including gas in my jeep and gas in the boat and couldn't fish because of this junk I got from you all so I'm out $150 because of the junk I got today thanks from making my day great to junk I work hard for my money and can't sit back and fish because the dang rod broke this is junk I better get my money back
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I recently purchase this combo at Walmart always have love Abu Garcia. Love the lightweight and balance this rod and reels has however fishing today with shakey head jig I set the hook on a fish and the rod broke mid shaft in two. So for now will be looking into another rod.
