Just picked up this combo today based off of my experience using the Black Max. This combo has a great feel, long smooth cast, good speed on retrieve, and looks amazing. I fished in my local pond as soon as I got home just to test it out. Pulled the small bass in well. Cant wait to test it on the big ones.

Haven't to it to a lake yet but practice casting in my back yard all I can say is I love it easy to tweak n learn I'm just converting into baitcasters and this is awesome n it was only 62.00$ bucks and My 10# test got stuck in a tree lol line didn't break nor my rod luv it

I bought this combo and it has worked fine but in the last month or so i start to reel and it gets harder to reel but then it goes back to normal.it only sometimes does this. i love the set and i hope they can fix my reel. its still under warranty and i love the 7ft rod.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I loved the reel. but your rod, I can't believe how weak it was, it broke on the first catch of a very small catfish. So I finished the day fishing with my kids 20 dollar fishing rod. I don't recommend this product not worth the $100. Compared to my kids 20 dollar rod. the reel is great but I guess I'll have to look for a different brand of rod for it. DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i love this baitcaster..... i purchased the combo a couple weeks ago and it is amazing .This was one of my first baitcast reels and it was easy to set it up where it fits me .The reel is very smooth and easy to cast for a beginner .I have used spinning reels all my life and loved them but i am sticking to baitcasters especially ABU GARCIA ! ABU GARCIA FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!

the reel works great! reeled in a couple of small bass with no problem at all but the rod stinks, one of the eye liners fell out on my first trip so im waiting to see what happens next... but overall a good buy.

I got this combo about a week ago and finally used it today. Caught a few bass with a few crappie and bluegill so it ended up a very successful day...Sadly on the way home my dad breaks the rod... so ill be buying a new one soon.....hopefully...

I tried out my Pro Max combo today and was very impressed, the reel was smooth and the rod was sturdy yet sensitive . The price can't be beat compared with the value of this excellent combo. I intend to buy three more to retool my arsenal . I have been an AbuGarcia fan since I started fishing which has been for 31 years now . I wanted to convert to the low profile reels and the Pro Max was the perfect choice since I'm on a budget, I highly recommend this combo. AbuGarcia for life!

I had two of these combos. One was a 6'6 M and the other was a 7' MH
For bass fishing these are awesome combos. The reels are almost worth the 100bucks you pay for the combo. Just as smooth as my higher dollar REVO S and SX reels. The biggest difference is the drag. I lost my 6'6 combo after a big bowfin pulled it overboard. The 7' combo was rigged with 65lb braid and used for jig and frog fishing, and some coastal red fishing. After catching about a 40lb black drum on it the rod snapped in half after the second eye from the reel and once I got the fish to the boat the drag is worn out. Still a great combo for bass fishing but I learned that they wont hold up to catching big saltwater fish. I plan to replace them with some more of the same combos. For the price you cant beat them even when you do lose them or break them on big fish.

Best bait caster you can get for the price, reels the smoothest out of all the reels in the max family. Also, is very sensitive but strong enough to reel in the big fish.

Man this is a amazing combo works perfectly, casts smooth reels in smooth and feels comfortable.. Great quality up there with the very pricy equipment I'm glad I came across this deal also this rod and reel is very very appealing couldn't be happier with abu's products own at least 7 other rods and another 8 or 9 reels all from abu reels have never failed me and rods are great quality and strong just remember to watch your step lol.. Great product keep up with the goods and the affordable prices nice to not have to be rich but still have great equipment like this thanks..

After doing some thorough research/ new rod&reel combo shopping, I purchased the Pro Max combo! I've heard that when you buy a combo you'll get a good reel and cheap rod, or a good rod and cheap reel! This combo is NEITHER! The reel is super smooth, and if you're not careful, will backlash easily. As long as you use the spool adjustments for the type of casting you're doing, you can cast a mile or flip 30 yds! I will say that i might try this reel on an Abu medium action rod just to see the difference in casting lighter weighted baits, but this combo has met my every expectation and i will be purchasing the ORRA next! Thanks Abu!

This rod is amazing! I fish from shore, which means that I need a long-casting rod, and this one gives me 50 feet over anything else I have! could not be more pleased with this rod unless it was a tad smoother.

I bought the combo unit because It seemed pretty decent for the price. The reel is actually pretty nice and is smooth and casts well. The problem I had was with the rod. The trigger section of the handle broke off on my first trip this year. Trust me im very careful with my stuff and you would think that you would have to hit it pretty hard to break it but that simply isn't the case. To make a long story short. 79.99 reel. 20.00 rod. Shipping to Abu Garcia 10.00 Return shipping 9.95. Rod now in trash. Looking for a new rod.

This comba has to be the best casting combo for its price range. Minimal backlashes, almost always my fault anyways. The rod feels amazing. I use it as an all around combo. The reel is incredibly smooth. If they weren't sold out here in town, I wouls definately own more.
