As the winner for the Tips4Tackle Contest held by Abu Garcia in 2011, I received the Revo MGX paired up with the Villain Rod. My favorite reel is definitely the MGX paired with the Villain rod due to its lightweight and incredible sensitivity!!! The craftsmanship and performance of the Villain Rod is unlike no other out there on the market. In my opinion, the villain rod is by far one of the best rods that Abu Garcia offers! It is amazing to have such a nice rod that is strong, durable, reliable, and still be lightweight! I will be heading down to the coast in the next few weeks to use it to catch some Redfish. Feel free to ask me any questions that you may have, and I will do my best to answer them.
Tight Lines and Calm Seas Abu Garcia Fans!

Redfish and the Revo MGX
Posted February 8, 2012
Hey Stephen,
If you are going to go redfishing I would recommend that you do NOT fish for them with the Revo MGX. Magnesium and salt or /brakish water do not mix. Take it from someone who learned this lesson the hard (and expensive) way.
